Would you like to save money on your energy bills whilst at the same time help the planet by reducing your carbon footprint?
If your answer to the above question is yes then you should consider flushing your central heating system
What is MagnaCleanse?
MagnaCleanse, developed by Adey, is a flushing system for central heating systems. Adey claim that flushing your central heating system with Magnacleanse can reduce your carbon emissions by between 200-250 kg a year for gas central heating systems and up to 300kg a year for LPG and oil central heating systems.
Additionally MagnaCleanse can remove all black iron oxide particles in a single pass of the system, which is up to 3 times faster than a standard power flush and can be carried out in as little as 2 hours, depending on your central heating system and the number of radiators in your home.
Over time, as you use your central heating system, build up of black sludge called iron oxide, develops inside the system and is cycled around inside your pipes to your radiators and boiler. This results in higher heating bills, increased levels of carbon emissions and potential costly maintenance call-outs and can substantially reduce the life of your central heating system
This sludge tend to accumulate inside your radiators causing them to operate at reduced capacity. If you can feel cold spots on your radiators then you could benefit from flushing your system.
As the particles cycle through your system they pass through your boiler running the risk of causing expensive damage to your heat exchanger.
If your system has been losing pressure, and needing frequent top ups, this will encourage corrosion in the system because it dilutes any protection or inhibitor that’s in the system.
Benefits of a MagaCleanse?
- Warmer radiators
- Quieter more efficient heating system
- Reduced carbon emissions
- Reduced heating bills
- Extended boiler lifespan
MagnaCleanse and MagnaClean
If you already have a MagnaClean installed on your central heating pipework it will make things easier still because MagnaCleanse is designed to fit directly onto your existing MagnaClean pipework.
If you don’t already have a MagnaClean filter we can install one at the same time for ongoing system protection.
How does a MagnaCleanse work?
MagnaCleanse works by sending high-pressure water, treated with special chemicals, round your central heating system. The process should be carried out by a trained heating engineer because they will need to drain down your system and perform some specialist tasks.
Our heating engineer will also use an agitator tool to dislodge any debris, sludge, corrosion, rust, and particles that have accumulated on the insides of your radiators so that they can be collected. As the high-pressure water cycles around your system, it picks up all the debris and iron oxide particles in your system. As this dirty and contaminated water is flushed through the MagnaCleanse unit it is collected by a powerful magnet so that it doesn’t circulate back into the system. The result is a clean central heating system!
We’ve been using MagnaCleanse now for about a year and are thoroughly impressed with its performance levels. There are still cases when we’d recommend a powerflush, but more most cases a system flush using MagnaCleanse is perfectly adequate and will save you money.
